Tazumal
- In the heart of Chalchuapa, Santa Ana you will find the ruins of Tazumal, evidence of Mayan civilization that existed here until about 100 A.D.

- It was discovered in the middle of the jungle along with El Trapiche and The lagoon of Cuscachapa, forming a mystic zone that houses the trails of an ancient culture. In 1942, archaeologist Stanley Bogas stumbled on the site and began excavations, and later discovered evidence of the entire civilization.
