The Volcanoes

There are around 25 volcanoes in El Salvador.  Many are still active, including Izalco, Usultan, San Miguel, Boquerones in San Salvador, Santa Sna, and Sierra Llametepec.  We strongly recommend making a visit to at least one of these volcanoes to pay homage since after all, it's thanks to them that we have such great surf in El Salvador!
They present large and small craters as well as lava flows. Since the arrival of the Spanish there have been several eruptions, such as the ones at the Santa Ana , San Salvador and Chaparrastique volcanoes.
You can also find countless thermal water spots, one of the most impressive are the geysers near the town of Carolina in Morazan province.
